Dr Kayley Ciesla

Programme Co-ordinator and Senior Research Fellow

Kayley is the Project Co-ordinator and site liaison officer for the wider BaBi network. Kayley is also the Senior Research Fellow supporting the academic lead with development of the BaBi Meta e-cohort. Kayley is also a Senior Research Fellow working on the NIHR Child Health and Maternity National Priorities Programme as part of the Yorkshire and Humber Applied Research Collaboration (YHARC).

Kayley was awarded the Vice Chancellors Fee Waiver Scholarship for Research Excellence in 2016 from the University of Huddersfield for her postgraduate research. Kayley is a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Kayley is passionate about reducing health inequalities and her research interests are broad including all aspects of child and maternal health. As well as her academic interests Kayley has vast range of practical experience working with a wide range of vulnerable and socially isolated individuals including young people, care leavers, young parents, homeless individuals, survivors of DV, perpetrators of DV, ex-offenders, individuals with mental health diagnoses and substance misuse issues.

Kayley has lots of experience of partnership working throughout her career chairing and contributing to a wide range of strategic forums including Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA'S), Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC's), Care Programme Approaches (CPA's), and Child Protection and Adult and Child Safeguarding conferences. Kayley recognises the huge benefits of multi-agency and multidisciplinary collaborations to achieve the best possible results. Kayley’s professional aim is to use both her academic and practical experiences through applied research to explore and develop successful interventions, theories and models that have real world benefits.
